Indianapolis, Ind. - In continuing with the tradition of excellence both in competition and in the classroom, nine Butler student-athletes were named to fall Academic All-Horizon League Teams. The league office made the announcement on Friday (Dec. 12).
Butler finished tied with Loyola for the second-most student-athletes recognized by the league.
The Bulldog men's soccer team, which matched the program's fourth-highest win total in history in 2008, boasted four recipients on the 14-member squad - the most from any school in the league. Sophomore Connor Burt (3.938 grade point average - Marketing major) led the way with the highest GPA among the Bulldogs, while junior Boris Gatzky (3.843 - Marketing), junior Nick Hegeman (3.376 - Mechanical Engineering) and sophomore Ben Sippola (3.779 - Exploratory) also earned mention on the squad.
