Indiana Goalkeeper Academy Partners with Butler Boys Soccer Camps
Indiana Goalkeeper Academy (IGA) has partnered with Butler Boys Soccer Camps to create the most complete training environment for boys to develop as goalkeepers and soccer players. With the partnership, IGA Director and Butler Men’s Goalkeeper Coach Miles Glynn will oversee goalkeeper training at all three camps slated for this summer. Having worked with hundreds of aspiring goalkeepers throughout the state, from recreational to elite ODP and college players, Coach Glynn will draw from these experiences to expose Butler Boys Campers to cutting edge training methods and a curriculum proven to take players to the next level.
Partnering with Butler Boys Soccer Camps means all goalkeepers will not only receive specific training in the physical and technical areas of the position, but will also have the daily opportunity to apply these concepts within match conditions as they join the field players for activities and small sided games. This means keepers will be coached in the game to learn how and when to apply the techniques learned, as well as how to make tactical decisions and how to function as a complete soccer player. Sound decision making is the watermark for high level goalkeepers and in the daily matches keepers at Butler Boys Soccer Camps will become experienced in making and executing good decisions.
Of the partnership, Coach Glynn had this to say, “I feel this partnership is a huge step in taking IGA training, and the development of youth goalkeepers, to a whole other level. Through an intensive five days, I will have the opportunity to set the foundation for physical and technical development. But most importantly, I will also have the ability to help keepers apply their skills in match situations, which is where it really counts. Mental decision making and tactical insight is imperative for the modern goalkeeper. Through my year-round work with the Butler Men’s keepers, and with my work with the Indiana Olympic Development Program, I’ve seen the benefit keepers gain when coached in the game by a keeper-specific coach. This coaching within the game is vital but it’s a missing component for most keepers who don’t have the luxury of a keeper coach at their team practices throughout the year. Here they’ll get instant feedback as they play which will go a long way in expediting their development as confident and capable goalkeepers.”
Also in the works for IGA, separate from Butler Boys Soccer Camps, will be a girls only summer keeper/striker camp in the Indianapolis area. Visit
