Thailand Coaching Seminar
From November 24th -December 2nd 2007 Coach Findley had the opportunity to travel to Thailand in a partnership with the Emmanuel Football Club, Sports Friends and the Thai Football Federation for the purpose of grass roots soccer education.
The week consisted of a coaching and leadership course with 38 club leaders and coaches from all over Thailand. Each day had three field sessions with a focus on practical on field coaching aspects and three lecture sessions with a focus on leading young people to strive for good character and integrity in sports. “It was a great opportunity to invest in a great group of leaders that are having a huge impact in their communities. I feel privileged to be asked by the leaders of Sports Friends to be a part of what they are doing and hope I can have the chance to serve again in the near future” said Coach Findley.
The project is part of an initiative started by Sports Friends in Ethiopia that is being replicated in Thailand. Coach Findley has had the opportunity to be a part of both projects over the last several years. The project in Ethiopia has grown to 1200 teams and almost 20,000 players that are off the streets, out of trouble and striving for character and integrity.
