Butler Boys Soccer Camp Philosophy
The Butler Boys Soccer Camp has been designed to meet the needs of a variety of players. We have a strong emphasis on individual player development and small group tactics. Players will be grouped by age. Our goal is to provide a positive learning atmosphere that will be fun and challenging to both beginning and select level players.
Butler Boys Soccer Camp Curriculum
We have a new curriculum every year that covers the basics of technical and tactical soccer training through the Move of the Day, Teaching sessions, 4v4 tournament, Ladder games and the Skill Challenge.
Move of the Day: Every morning for warm up we do one move to help players develop better 1 v 1 skills. We encourage them to work on it at home and consider it their homework throughout the week and hopefully throughout the year.
Teaching sessions: The sessions are designed to teach technique and tactics through a traditional practice session. Each of our staff runs the same session from our curriculum based on the selected topic to ensure a quality training environment.
4 v 4 Tournament: Small sided games are not only fun they are vital for player development and the 4 v 4 tournament gives our campers both. We have a championship on Friday and T-shirts that can’t be bought, only won, are given to the winners.
Ladder Games: These are small sided rotational games focused on quick transition with a heavy emphasis on individual skill. We have daily prize winners for each ladder competition. These are a favorite.
Skill Challenge: This is new for this year and it is a skill contest against other campers to see who is the best or fastest at pre-determined skill challenges. Each age group will have a winner in each challenge.
